Project Patchwork is the social forum for women living with hidden conditions.
We live our three VALUE PILLARS everyday and expect our members to do the same.
KINDNESS – Kindness starts at home, with yourself. How you treat and talk to yourself becomes the foundation from which you approach others. Kindness is acting without expectation of reciprocity or recognition but it’s not just niceness, sometimes it means saying no. You mustn’t enable someone else’s destructive behaviours but instead acknowledge them with compassion.
SUPPORT – Support is rooted in empathy. It is non-judging, the bridge between our emotions and our choices. It is your ability to understand someone else’s situation, experience, feelings, and behaviours. It is not your responsibility to rescue her – she must discover her own strength. You are here to support her to identify her options, discuss them and help her make her own choices.
SAFETY – Safety is trusting the integrity of others. When we build new friendships we must first be honest, allowing our actions to speak who we truly are and what we believe in. It means never having to waste time or energy hiding. We feel safe in the company of people with integrity. You are dependable, accountable and trustworthy even when no one is watching!
You may not feel like it yet, but once you are a member of Project Patchwork it will become second nature for you to live by our values. It’s as simple as being the real you, the woman who has been wanting to drop her societal mask so she can find her tribe.
